Job Description
10month fulltime position. For theschool year.
Job Description: Develop in each pupil an interest in and the ability to express himself creatively in visual terms utilizing skills and techniques of artistic expression appropriate to the pupils interests and abilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop aesthetic understanding and appreciations.
- Discover and develop talents of pupils in the field of art.
- Teach knowledge and skills in art including drawing painting sculpture printmaking crafts and design as described by the District 54 Art Curriculum.
- Instruct pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
- Provide instruction by which pupils develop aesthetic concepts and appreciations and the ability to make qualitative judgments about art.
- Demonstrate techniques in activities such as drawing painting sculpture printmaking crafts and design utilizing a variety of media and teaching techniques.
- Develop instructional plans that will fulfill the art objectives yet allow for activities in new or experimental techniques.
- Organize class time to provide a balanced program of instruction demonstrations and working time.
Requirements: Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Fine Arts. Minimum 18 semester hours in art education. Illinois State Teaching Certification.
