Job Description

Job Overview

Under the direction of the Director of EOP and Project Rebound this position provides critical support for Project Rebound a special admissions and support program for students transitioning from incarceration to higher education. The program has helped hundreds of individuals earn bachelors and masters degrees throughout the CSU since 1967. Project Rebound has a proven peersupport model to reduce recidivism promote restorative justice and empower individuals through higher education. The Project Rebound Outreach Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and overseeing the daytoday operations of the program which includes but is not limited to on and offcampus program planning outreach and student support. The Project Rebound Outreach Coordinator also helps to provide lead direction on resource uses and program implementation.

Under the direction of the Director of EOP and Project Rebound the Outreach Coordinator works with Admissions to facilitate the enrollment of all formerly incarcerated students who qualify for the program based on university as well as program criterion. The Project Rebound Outreach Coordinator leads the assessment of each students unique academic and holistic needs and familiarizes them with all necessary CSUSM and community services that will aid them in the community transition and matriculation process. The Project Rebound Outreach Coordinator acts as a liaison between Project Rebound and campus departments (such as Admissions Financial Aid Advising SHCS DSS academic departments and EL) and any other departments that further promote the success of Project Rebound.

Along with the Director of EOP and Project Rebound this position will represent CSUSM to external community and governmental organizations. This position will be called upon as a resource in responding to sensitive equity crisis mental health and individualized issues as they relate to justicesystem impacted students who may be experiencing posttraumatic stress. This position will serve as a mentor and advisor to students and a resource to other faculty/staff positions on campus. This position will work with interns and student assistants to design and deliver programs for graduate and/or undergraduate students and university employees to promote holistic health leadership development equity social equality and access to basic needs to address the intersectionality of identities such as justiceinvolved gender race religion ethnicity class and ability. The position will promote Project Rebound and raise awareness of the excellence of formerly incarcerated students and student concerns through supporting events/programs written materials and through representation on campuswide committees.

This is a fulltime exemptposition which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period.

Pay Benefits and Work Schedule

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5540 $6300 per month

CSU Classification Salary Range: $5540 $7893 per month

Salary is commensurate with the background and experience of the individual selected.

This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits including medical dental vision life and disability insurances retirement (CalPERS) tuition waiver vacation and sick leave. In addition 14 paid holidays are offered each year; 13 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.
