The Principal serves as the educational leader of the school administering all facets of its instructional program including the cocurricular activities; supervises all certified and noncertified staff assigned to the facility; and establishes expectations for student learning performance conduct and attendance.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Implements federal and state laws administrative regulations and school committee policies as they apply to the school2. Supervises the delivery of instruction to students ensuring that teachers focus on the district curriculum and the Massachusetts curriculum frameworks to meet student needs and requirements3. Supervises and evaluates certified and noncertified personnel assigned to the school4. Demonstrates fiduciary responsibility through effective development and management of the budget and school activity funds5. Effectively manages an efficient office and recordkeeping system6. Encourages and facilitates faculty and staff professional growth7. Fosters positive student parent and staff relationships8. Encourages positive public relations within and outside the school9. Hires and recommends highly qualified staff members through the use of district hiring protocols10. Exercises leadership necessary to make the school facility a safe attractive and productive place in which to learn and work11. Develops a fair and consistent system for student discipline12. Attends school committee meetings as required13. Maintains currency in education practices and invests in ones own professional development14. Adheres to the standards of the schools accrediting agencies15. Performs other duties as assigned by the SuperintendentThe Sutton Public Schools Superintendent will offer a contract with a regionally competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
