Job Description
Interstate Brick is widely recognized as one of the premier commercial brick manufacturers in the U.S. Established in 1891 Interstate Brick joined the Pacific Coast Building Products family in 1990. The companys products used in residential and commercial construction offer several distinguishing features that motivate architects and builders across the country to specify them.
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Superintendent this position is responsible for performing a variety of general labor duties in the yard services area such as cutting and hand stacking brick repairing pallets and general clean up; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity Safety Respect Customer Focus Quality Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Sorts and loads brick onto octagon machine
Cuts brick according to specifications
Repairs broken wooden pallets and skids
Cleans loose or broken brick from yard area
Performs a variety of general labor duties such as grogging brick
Work in other areas of the plant including packaging break away thin brick and ribbon and split tile packaging line.
Maintains work area according to company specifications for cleanliness and safety
All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representative
Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.
High school diploma or equivalent experience
Requires onthejob training to be able to perform duties
Must be able to communicate effectively with peers customers and superiors.
Must be able to speak effectively read write and have basic math skills
Ability to use and operate electric masonry saws torches hand banders and wrenches
Ability to follow simple instructions
Regular attendance is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Frequently required to use hands to finger handle or feel; Reach with hands and arms; Talk and listen; Stand walk and sit.
Ability to bend at the waist; Lift and/or move upto 40 pounds.
