Job Description
Building Substitute Teachers at The Oaks Academy play a vital role in supporting the teachers ensuring that students experience a consistent and engaging learning environment. The Building Substitute is trained and provided insight on The Oaks teaching techniques and curriculum. This ensures that when they are called to support a classroom during the teachers absence they feel comfortable and prepared.
The Oaks Academy is a Christcentered and diverse school that offers a unique learning experience for students from all over central Indiana. Students at The Oaks thrive as they learn grow and engage deeply with ideas. With an average of 18 to 20 students per middle school classroom and a classical timetested curriculum Oaks Academy teachers are able to focus on facilitating holistic authentic learning in a collaborative professional community.

Responsibilities
- Follow instructional plans in absence of regular teachers
- Model and teach habits that help students grow in wisdom compassion and Christlike maturity
- Maintain a safe and engaging learning environment to help students develop a lifelong love of learning
- Ensure students thrive as they develop strong relationships with God others ideas and the world
- Know and love each student to promote their continued growth and development
- Facilitate student engagement with ideas and develop principled critical thinking
