About the Role:
Are you looking for a dynamic and varied finance role with opportunities for career progression Play Sports Network an established and innovative cycling media business is seeking a talented and motivated Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. This is an great opportunity to work in a supportive environment where your development and growth will be encouraged.
In this role youll report directly to an experienced Finance Manager and will gain valuable exposure to a wide range of financial activities. You will play a vital role in supporting the finance teams operations and contribute to the continued success of the business as it grows. Additionally there are opportunities for personal development including funded study support and apprenticeship programmes should you wish to start or continue professional qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the monthend process including revenue recognition ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
- Support the Finance Manager in maintaining a strong and consistent control environment.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Raise sales ledger invoices and ensure they are processed accurately.
- Process purchase ledger invoices ensuring they match purchase orders and internal controls.
- Respond promptly and professionally to financerelated queries via email providing clear resolutions.
- Reconcile eCommerce transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
- Assist in yearend close processes and liaise with auditors during the audit process.
- Update and maintain the fixed asset register for the group.
Skills and Experience:
- Partqualified or working towards a recognised finance qualification (e.g. AAT CIMA ACCA).
- Good Excel skills and the ability to work with complex spreadsheets.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- A proactive and selfmotivated approach with the ability to work independently.
- Experience using accounting software and systems is desirable.
