You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Electronics and Wide Format Service Technician will be responsible for the diagnosis and repair of various geospatial measurement equipment as it pertains to survey mapping construction and related construction equipment as well as Wide Format printers.
Troubleshoot both survey equipment and wideformat printers.
Estimate service costs
Bench service and calibrate various measurement equipment inhouse including but not limited to: total stations optical and digital theodolites lasers locators optical and digital levels GPS systems and data collectors. Provide repair and preventative maintenance on a selection of HP Wide Format Printers.
Provide excellent customer service both over the phone and face to face as well as can communicate technical information to nontechnical audiences
Identify and escalate issues requiring additional support to the Manufacturers and/or Service Manager as required
Complete all required paperwork to ensure efficient tracking and documentation requirements are achieved
Responsible for personal quality of workmanship and taking all necessary precautions to prevent customer service disruptions
Maintain accurate parts stock as assigned counted periodically
Operate a variety of hand and electronic tools to effectively and properly perform work tasks
Ensure machines are wiped down after setup and used parts and materials are properly disposed of and accounted for within our system.
Perform other tasks as assigned or required by the Service Manager
Note: 50 of the time you will be required to travel to customers sites to repair their equipment including the occasional outoftown trip.
We are looking for an energetic highly motivated individual able to work in a team environment and is willing to take on and learn new machine maintenance. Specific machine training will be provided.
The successful candidate will possess:
Postsecondary education in electronics technology
Understanding of computer hardware Windows operating system & I/O interfacing in Windowsbased environments.
Experience with Windowsbased software diagnostic utilities and flashloaders
Strong diagnostic and analytical skills
Must live in the area to ensure that travel time to client sites is within our desired response time.
Prior electronics/computer experience
Experience repairing and maintaining electronic equipment or wideformat printing equipment
Demonstrated knowledge of electronic repair techniques and associated diagnostic repair equipment (knowledge of optical repair techniques and associated optical collimation equipment will set you apart)
Computer/network troubleshooting skills related to connecting devices to a network
