JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Senior Coordinator is a vital part of the team in helping to continue the vision and mission of the department. They are responsible to the Assistant Director of Residence Life supervising a professional staff member and up to 20Student Leaders as well as overseeing the daily activities of several residence halls which house up to 1600 students. This is a 12month livein regular staff position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Supervision
Supervises one professional staff member and up to 20Student Leaders (Sorority Assistants and/or Resident Assistants).
Conducts regular individual and group supervision meetings.
Evaluate Resident Assistantand/orSorority Assistant performance.
Provides support and training for Resident Assistantsand/orSorority Assistants.
Student Development and Residence Education
Assists with the planning implementation and evaluation of a residence education program for the area.
Assists with the development and implementation of areawide programs.
Makes referrals to campus and community agencies when appropriate.
Encourages student involvement and their programming efforts.
Acts as an advocate for students by communicating their concerns and issues to the appropriate agency.
Advises individual students with academic career and personal concerns.
Interprets and enforces University and residence hall policies and procedures.
Mediates conflicts between and among students.
Responds to crises in the residence halls.
Implements the Student Accountability Process as a Case Manager.
Administration
Assists with the daily operation and organization of the area and the area office.
Handles requests for room changes and contract releases in collaboration with Housing staff.
Assists in promoting the safety and security of residents.
Assists in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with Housing and Food Services Police and Public Safety Student Affairs Academic AffairsConferenceServices Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life the Panhellenic Council etc.
Provides oncalldutycoverage over breaks on a rotating basis including Thanksgiving Break Winter Break Spring Break and throughout Summer.
Community Development
Demonstrates a commitment to students and the quality of their life in the residence hall environment.
Encourages Resident Assistantsand/orSorority Assistants to become wellacquainted with students in their community.
Assists the Resident Assistantsand/orSorority Assistants in developing and promoting a positive living environment.
Demonstrates a commitment to human relations/diversity/socialjustice issues.
Plans and implements programs in conjunction with Resident Assistantsand/orSorority Assistants and students.
Demonstrates a commitment to staff and student retention and recruitment efforts particularly as they impact members of underrepresented groups.
Provide primary oversight and liaison responsibility on all daytoday residential issues for one of the following areas: sorority housing (Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life) or Summer Conferences (Housing Conference Services)plus additional departmental functional tasks as needed.
Conference Services
Supervision of fulltime Conference Coordinators.
Interviewing hiring training and supervision of summer conference coordinators and conference assistants (SCAs).
Schedule SCAs for duty to cover conference groups living in various campus residence halls.
Be present for checkins to assist with guest questions and issues that might arise.
Assist in the formulation of conference policies procedures and protocols.
Recommend housing arrangements and contract language to the Assistant Director of Conference Services.
Respond to card access behavioral and maintenance issues/emergencies.
Organize and provide orientation sessions for chaperones coaches and parents.
Responsible to an Assistant Director of Conference Services for assisting with adult conferences and youth/sports camps.
Sorority Residential Community Development
Supervision of fulltime Coordinators in the Sorority area.
Facilitate recruitment/selection/trainingof Sorority Assistants.
Supervise/Evaluate/SupportSorority Assistants in the development of communitybuilding programming for residential sorority members.
Facilitate communication between sorority residential members and relevant chapter officers.
Conduct regular assessments regarding the residential and community engagement experience of residential sorority members for continued program development.
Assist in marketing/promotionalefforts to promote oncampus sorority floor living.
Responsible to an Assistant/Associate Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life.
Attend Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life staff meetings and Panhellenic Council meetings as appropriate.
Miscellaneous
Participates in committees and task force groups.
Assists in the recruitment and training of professional and paraprofessional staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
This position requires a Masters degree or higher and one year of related experience.
Masters degree or higher in Student Personnel/Counseling or related area preferred.
Should possess a thorough understanding of the role and purpose of residence hall living as it applies to student development.
This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check PA Child Abuse History Clearance and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid drivers license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

The salary range for this position including all possible grades is:
