Job Description

Wolfram creator of Mathematica WolframAlpha and Wolfram Language has an exciting opportunity for an Academic Key Accounts Manager to join its Academic Sales team. The company is looking for a motivated individual with strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills to work with our top customers and partners within the US/Canada fouryear university space. The ideal candidate thrives in a fastpaced environment and takes pride in their work and achievements.

A clear employment verification and education verification will be required for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Growing usage and relationships with named organizations and faculty/staff within those organizations by:
    • Responding to customer leads and inquiries from these named organizations
    • Working with faculty/researchers to incorporate our technology into their courses and projects
    • Traveling to each of these named organizations to provide technical talks and meet with faculty/staff to build relationships
    • Serving as the primary liaison at Wolfram for all inquiries by faculty/staff at those named organizations and ensuring topquality relationships with timely and quality responses
  • Maintaining and growing sales within the organization by:
    • Serving as the primary contract negotiation pointofcontact to expand existing contracts
    • Maintaining the SugarCRM pipeline of opportunities and closing sales as well as accurately providing forecasting information to sales management of expected sales
    • Expanding the existing technology list on current contracts and growing contracts to add more technology training and technical services
    • When visiting organizations also setting up salesdriven meetings with faculty as well as IT/purchasers and decisionmakers (chairs deans etc. to drive revenue forward
  • Serving as the entrylevel sales engineer for academic sales group by:
    • Having technical experience with Wolfram Language to a level of assisting other academic salespeople with other organizations or individuals looking to achieve something with our technology
    • Helping write technical talks aimed at sales growth and providing online or inperson talks for salespeople without the technical experience or ability to do it on their own
    • Training salespeople without technical experience to provide talks on their own both online and in person

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree
  • Experience with computational software
  • Research teaching and/or sales experience
  • Superb verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Selfmotivated and selfdisciplined
  • Desire to learn and selfeducate
  • Shows initiative and ownership for work
  • Ability to articulate ideas and instructions
  • Openminded in exploring new fields
  • Masters or PhD is preferred

Location: Champaign Illinois or remote
Job Type: Full time 40 hours per week)/Permanent
Reporting to: Academic Sales Manager
Salary (for eligible candidates residing in the United States): For candidates based in the United States the base salary for this position is expected to be up to $50000 per year with expected ontarget earnings (OTE) of $80000 (including bonuses and commissions). Your exact offer and OTE may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including jobrelated knowledge skills and experience.
