Job Description

Job Summary

The RN LifeFlight Outreach Coordinator is responsible for customer relationship building that leads to positioning the Nicklaus Childrens Hospitals LifeFlight program and Nicklaus Childrens Hospital as the provider of choice for regional transport referrals. Evaluates the healthcare market and regional transport needs monitors and trends transfer and transport data and develops and implements outreach strategies to capture additional volume. Provides leadership and support to all aspects of medical communications related to efforts within NCHs LifeFlight program and NCH. Supports the Director Medical Director and Nurse Manager of the LifeFlight program and has delegated broad responsibility for program implementation with considerable independence.

Job Specific Duties

  • Monitors and evaluates monthly transfers/transport stat reports to identify trends and takes actions accordingly.
  • Works with program leadership to define and build outreach reports/dashboard to measure/track outreach activity effectiveness and contribution to the organizational strategic plan.
  • Partners closely with NCH professionals in provider relations trauma ECLS transfer center critical care patient navigation institute leadership etc. to ensure a unified and collaborative delivery of content and representation with outside hospitals/agencies
  • Supports complex coordination of patient transports to/from referral sites as needed.
  • Prepares and maintains records of activities tracks spending on necessary items within approved budgetary guidelines compiles data and prepares reports.
  • Provides education information and trainings to appropriate individuals regarding programs and services neonatal/pediatric transport to/from referral sites as needed.
  • Participates in/on a variety of meetings conferences and/or other related groups in order to receive and convey information.
  • Identifies progressive ideas through researching industry and related events publications and announcements; tracks their accomplishments and stays abreast on how these could impact the NCHs LifeFlight program and NCH organization.
  • Ensures effective planning and organization of community outreach efforts.
  • Works closely with program leadership and Marketing and Communications to promote the brand/image awareness of Nicklaus Childrens Hospital LifeFlight program in the service region.
  • Provides education to NCH referral centers and outlying facilities in accordance with their needs.
  • Develops with support from marketing and Communications a regional educational brochure/catalog for education needs.
  • Identifies and produces educational materials including to support public relations and communications with NCH customers that meets the needs for neonatal and pediatric services with possible transport opportunities.
  • Develops facilitates instructs and delivers education to outside facilities. Solicits critical care transport staff to assist with outreach education opportunities. Provides necessary communication and /or followup with facilities after educational programs.
  • Defines develops and ensures optimal working relationships with the community physicians members medical staff members of the health system and referring physicians.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • RN Licensure within the State of Florida or MultiState Enhanced Nursing License Compact(eNLC) maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
  • American Heart Association BLS Instructor Provider maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
  • American Heart Association PALS Instructor Provider maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
  • American Heart Association ACLS Instructor Provider maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Instructor Provider maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
  • Air Medical Crew Core Curriculum (AMCCC) required within 6 months of hire maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
  • Active and valid State of Florida drivers license with an approved driving record pursuant to our policy and maintained throughout employment
  • 35 years of experience in Emergency Medical Services and Critical Care Transport operations

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Masters Degree in business nursing healthcare marketing communications or public relations preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare marketing community outreach or public relations preferred.
  • Experience in developing and implementing business plans and market strategies.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate individuals and projects in a responsible manner.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize work.
  • Demonstrate ability to work with diverse range of groups professionals agencies and community members.
  • Strong written verbal and lecture communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable with public speaking.
  • Ability to provide education information and trainings to appropriated individuals regarding NCH programs and services.
  • Able to collaborate with NCH program leaders to develop strategies that promote the brand image and awareness of NCH services.
  • Proficient in the use of software programs such as MS Word Outlook scheduling software and data spreadsheets.
  • Proficient in developing electronic presentations and using A/V equipment and virtual platforms.
  • Ability to work effectively as a liaison with communitybased organizations and the business community.
