ChildNet Inc. is a private notforprofit communitybased care (CBC) agency servicing Broward and Palm Beach County. We are contracted with the State of Florida Department of Children and Families to provide case management support to abused abandoned and neglected children. ChildNet is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) and employs over 450 staff at its location in Ft Lauderdale and West Palm Beach Florida.

Job Summary: The Fatherhood Engagement Specialist connects and engages fathers with child welfare involvement to promote healthy family relationships strengthen fatherchild bonds and enhance the level of involvement of fathers in case planning and provision of services.

The items listed below are intended to provide an overview of the essential functions of the job. This is not an exhaustive list of all functions and responsibilities that the position may be required to provide.

  • Outreach to Engage Fathers with Child Welfare Involvement orient and acclimate fathers to the program services and environment as needed.
  • Facilitate Fatherhood Engagement Curriculum teaches agency approved evidenced based curriculum in the home community and group settings as appropriate outreach and education to benefit fathers.
  • Refers and links fathers to appropriate community agencies and ensures necessary followup as appropriate via phone and inperson assist fathers with completion of applications to community services and/or programs and advocates for fathers need in support of shared parenting.
  • This position serves as a liaison to the assigned Dependency Case Manager ensuring collaboration and open communication of all activities.
  • This position serves as an advocate for the father at applicable court hearings as needed.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation as required of all contacts and activities in FSFN and Integrate
  • Maintain a resource guide of services that are father centered and identify any gaps of services necessary for fathers to achieve case plan goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills/ Requirements:

Years of Experience:

  • 12 years of experience working with children and families

Education/Licenses/Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Child Welfare System experience preferred.
  • Bachelors or Associates Degree preferred.
