Summary


Take your construction expertise to the next level! The City of Medford is looking for a Construction Inspector to oversee public works projects ensuring quality safety and compliance. This role offers a mix of field inspections contractor coordination and project documentation all while working on essential infrastructure. Required Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; and
  • Three 3 years of increasingly responsible experience performing a variety of construction inspection work.
  • ODOT General Inspector Certification within 6 months of hire.
  • ODOT Asphalt Concrete Pavement Inspector Certification within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Erosion and Sediment Control Manager Certification.

Available Schedule:

  • 8 hours daily Monday Friday

The anticipated hiring range for theConstruction Inspectorposition is $31.37(first step) to $32.94or $34.59(second or third step).The City of Medford determines starting pay based on an evaluation of relevant education experience andqualifications as provided by the applicant in their application materials alongside others who perform work of comparable character consistent with the Oregon Equal Pay Act. Six steps are included in this salary range allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
This position involves a combination of field and office work. The office environment is generally climatecontrolled with moderate noise levels and involves prolonged periods of computer use. Fieldwork a core component of this role requires exposure to various outdoor conditions including rain heat and cold. Fieldwork locations may include congested traffic areas and uneven terrain. Construction sites can be dusty and may have fumes from various materials. Interaction with the public is also a possibility during fieldwork.

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. This position requires extended periods of standing and walking with occasional sitting. Must be able to crouch bend stoop twist turn and balance. The employee regularly operates various office equipment including computers printers copy machines calculators and telephones. Good eyesight hearing balance and dexterity are required.
