Technician

Job Summary:

The Technician assists with the planned and reactive maintenance throughout the attraction to ensure the daytoday operation is running smoothly safely and efficiently. The Technician is responsible for all aspects of the attraction including the audio visual lighting equipment and machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain repair and troubleshoot all areas of the attractions equipment and machinery including HVAC electrical electronic pneumatic hydraulic and plumbing systems as well as themed attractions.
• Apply handson knowledge and experience to tackle problems to sustain minimal downtime of themed attractions for the maximum guest experience.
• Position functions will include but not limited to custodial duties relamping & lighting systems painting and wall repair tech equipment shipping and receiving as well as exhibit setup and takedown. Maintaining and troubleshooting Audio Visual equipment for both old and new exhibits.
• Install and/or replace light bulbs projector lamps doors etc.
• Troubleshoot repair and maintain attraction systems rides and equipment.
• Perform work order repairs inspections and adjustments.
• Troubleshoot repair or replace control devices.
• Complete Preventative Maintenance tasks (Daily Weekly BiWeekly Monthly etc..
• Repair and/or paint interior walls hang pictures; assemble furniture.
• Setup and install data cables as needed; install and repair computer outlets and computer bundles.
• Monitor and maintain all building systems as assigned. Corrects or reports any safety or fire hazards.
• Observes safe working practices including maintaining storage areas clean organized and in safe condition.
• Able to setup and operate various hand tools and power equipment.
• Knowledge of basic carpentry plumbing electrical data and networking systems understanding of pumps impellers and motors hydraulic and pneumatic control systems such as linear actuators solenoids electronics including AV systems DMX lighting PC hardware and software (troubleshooting replacement and installation) low voltage wiring (maglocks proximity sensors servos low voltage batteries etc. and safety practices and equipment related to work (OSHA regulations and PPE knowledge).
• Skilled in using repair materials equipment and methods according to established industry and safety standards; learning and applying proper maintenance procedures and use of equipment and supplies; maintaining tools and equipment assigned in clean working order; understanding and following written and oral directions; completing assignments without immediate supervision and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those encountered in the course of work.

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or GED required. At least two years of maintenance experience required. At least two years of service industry experience in a technical/themed environment to include animation automation hydraulics pneumatic electrical/electronics and networks. Experience of maintaining flexibility and the highest level of servicein highpressure and/or stressful situations. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and multitask as necessary. Desire to work in fastpaced environments.

Licenses and Certifications

Ability to obtain related licensures or certification as may be required to perform the essential function of the position or as required by law.

Travel Requirements:

• May occasionally require local travel.

• Grasp turn and manipulate objects of varying size and weight requiring fine motor skills and handeye coordination.
• May be exposed to a loud work environment.
• May operate heavy power equipment.
• May work at height 20 feet.
• May work with corrosive materials.
• May be occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals hazardous chemicals fluorescent lamps or batteries hazardous waste.

Environmental Factors

• Depending on location work may be performed inside or outside with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.
• • Exposure to varying temperatures extreme heat or cold and/or wet damp or drafty conditions.
  • Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds of a pitch level sufficient to cause marked distractions.
  • Exposure to shaking objects and equipment.
  • Exposure to varying light levels while transitioning in and out of the attraction at various times of the workday.

  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 70 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
