GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:CMC is seeking an energetic and flexible teacher eager to work in our public day school autism program with a highneeds population. This position is accountable for assuming the responsibility of providing instructional experience through creativity resourcefulness and sound judgment consistent with the rules and regulations of the Central Massachusetts Collaborative. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Plan develop and implement various instructional experiences through creativity and resourcefulness which lends to the educational growth and development of the targeted student population. 2. Develop effective classroom presentations and techniques and review correct and reinforce instructional lessons to enhance the learning and retention process. 3. Develop effective techniques for academic assessment and management of discipline and behavior reinforcement. 4. Align instruction with MA Curriculum Frameworks. 5. Assist students in building academic social and selfregulatory skills. 6. Create a structured therapeutic safe environment for all students.7. Develop and implement behavior intervention plans for the class and individual students. 8. Address and handle students with behavioral issues. 9. Prepare students for the MCAS test. 10. Assist students in all activities of daily living. 11. Able to exercise universal precautions and tolerate management of body fluids if needed. 12. Conduct assessments write reports and participate in team processes. 13. Write and implement IEPs and progress reports. 14. Collaborate with support service providers clinicians and other educators. 15. Maintain data and all required documentation. 16. Supervises paraprofessionals. 17. Complete nonviolent crisis intervention training upon hire and maintain nonviolent crisis intervention certification.18. Demonstrate sound judgments and decisions aligned with school regulations and philosophy promote a positive school climate that fosters high student expectations and employ appropriate strategies that address multiple learning styles for all students.19. Demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to deal with people professionally.20. Able to reach grasp and handle objects using upper extremities and lift and carry objects and/or classroom equipment up to 45 pounds. 21. Perform other jobrelated duties as assigned by the director.
