Job Description

Help get better trained personnel to the front line faster

Selborne is a Transformational Training programme with a strategic goal of modernising Royal Navy training to deliver better trained sailors to the front line faster.

You will provide subject matter expertise (SME) in Engineering to support apprentices progressing the Royal Navy (RN) Apprenticeship Programme (AP).

You will look after and support learners through to their qualification. This role will involve overnight stays with travel to different locations on average every 68 weeks and the expected requirement is that there will be at least 2 nights away (travel and accommodation is paid for)

Job Description:

What youll be doing

  • Conducting all enrolments for learners in engineering
  • Looking after apprentices studying Engineering providing apprenticeship programme inductions progress review assurances training delivery and support services
  • Assessing and conducting progress reviews with Royal Navy trainees including going onboard Royal Navy vessels
  • Remote contact and communication with apprentices
  • Working collaboratively with internal and external organisations to facilitate the timely delivery of any qualifications where mandated within the apprenticeship programme.
  • Ensuring all progress reviews observations communications and other information regarding the apprentices are uploaded onto the Management Information System.

What were looking for:

  • Qualification and background in Engineering is essential
  • Have worked in a role that involves supporting learners within adult learning/education (desirable)
  • Any knowledge of/or a Marine engineering background would be beneficial
  • Assessing or coaching and mentoring qualifications (desirable)
  • Experience of working with apprentices would be advantageous
  • Military experience highly desirable
  • Experience of the use of technology to support learning delivery (MS Office
  • Ability to attain UK SC clearance
