Start & End Date:May 1st October 31st (required onboarding & training beginning in late April)
Salary Range:$20$25/hour $15 $20/hour if living in free staff housing)
Work Schedule:7 day operation; Typical schedule is 5 days/week 7am 3pm
Housing:Free onsite housing available for this role however it will impact your base salary

Who Were Looking for
Youre passionate about helping to create delicious and beautiful pastries and desserts while prioritizing seasonal locally sourced and farmproduced ingredients. Through this culinary work youll contribute to the Farms mission and to a resilient and sustainable food system all while delighting folks with your delicious and thoughtfully crafted pastries that will be enjoyed by guests and visitors across Shelburne Farms.
What Youll Do
Support the Pastry Chef with production of all pastryrelated items for our various food outlets including breakfast tea time special events dinner service and the food truck.
Support the teams sustainable culinary practices including reducing food waste composting and utilizing every part of an ingredient.
Prep and cook using approved safe foodhandling practices.
Support team efforts to maintain a clean organized and efficient kitchen environment adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Assist in monthly inventory.
Clean and organize the pastry kitchen.
Maintain an efficient work environment.
Core Qualifications
Trained in basic pastry techniques such as: ice cream bases custards cookies breads mousses piping skills and can follow a recipe.
Team mindset: open to collaborating and assisting fellow team members.
Additional Valued Qualifications
Work well under pressure and strive to motivate others.
A passion for farm to table food and hospitality.
Experience using systems and tools such as Google Workspace (all Google Suite tools) event planning point of sale dining and room reservations.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Being active for extended periods of time and working in settings with limited air conditioned work environments depending on the location.
Fastpaced work environment.
Carrying and moving items up/down stairs and over uneven terrain weighing up to 40 lbs.
Indoor and outdoor work environment.
Moving over uneven terrain.
Maintaining a tidy shared workspace.
Benefits
Free employee housing available at Shelburne Farms for this role however not required. This benefit will impact your base pay rate.
