  • Given the increasing complexity of many ebilling platforms and the increased appetite for ebilling from clients this newly created Team Leader role is essential to evaluate our current practices and explore innovative solutions taking the team with it.

Role Detail

Joining the wider Finance Division this new position will play a crucial role within the Matter Accounting function. With flexibility to be based out of our Melbourne or Sydney office and with a balanced approach to WFH this role will draw on your experience with eBilling relying on you to elevate our current eBilling process and ensure ongoing excellence in this space.

Designed to meet the growing demand for electronic billing (eBilling) services from our clients the Team Leader will provide leadership and support to the firms Partners and staff ensuring efficient and accurate eBilling processes.

Reporting to the Matter Accounting Manager you will spearhead the firms ebilling capabilities collaborating closely with the Matter Accounting Manager and the Finance Operations & Support Senior Manager.

The primary responsibilities will include:

  • Reducing the administrative burden associated with ebilling processes
  • Enhancing the accuracy and speed of ebill uploads
  • Improving overall working capital by ensuring timely and accurate invoicing
  • This role is pivotal in shaping the future of ebilling support at KWM ensuring we remain competitive and responsive to client needs.

You will also:

  • Lead the electronic invoicing function ensuring accurate and timely submission of invoices across the firm
  • Address invoice rejections and implement process improvements to mitigate recurring issues
    Streamline the ebilling process which directly impacts cash flow client satisfaction and overall financial hygiene


By optimising the ebilling function you will actively upskill the team identify potential issues and enhance process efficiency.

About You

As with all KWM finance roles you need to be passionate about what you do and align with 3 of our firms key principles betterment clarity and trust.

You will also bring:

  • Extensive knowledge of eBilling LEDES EBilling formats and UTBMS codes.
  • Extensive experience using eBilling platforms such as Legal Tracker Collaborati Vendor Caf Ariba CounselGo CounselLink and T360
  • Knowledge and experience with financial practice management systems (ideally Elite 3E) and matter accounting processes gained within a professional services environment
  • A continuous improvement mindset
  • Previous leadership experience working within a finance function in professional services would be looked on favourably
  • Knowledge of accounting concepts
  • Knowledge and understanding of rates in Elite 3e desirable or other practice management systems.
  • Excellent client service focus with a confidence to liaise with internal and external clients with professionalism and ease
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • High level attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of Excel Word Outlook
  • Demonstratable strong problem solving and resolution capabilities
