We are looking for a driven and detailoriented Planning & Controls Associate to join our Portfolio Management Office (PMO) at GE Power Conversion part of GE Vernova.
This is an exciting earlycareer opportunity for someone eager to grow in the field of project planning and controls working as part of a collaborative team supporting complex customer and internal projects. The role involves working across functional teams and engaging with customers suppliers and project stakeholders to help ensure project timelines budgets and risks are effectively managed.

Job Description

What Youll Be Doing:

TeamBased Planning & Controls:

Support the PM in developing and maintaining project schedules and cost tracking.

Collaborate with experienced planners project managers and engineers to understand scope timelines and deliverables.

Continuous Improvement & Learning:

Participate in team improvement initiatives and contribute to standardizing planning practices. Actively seek opportunities to learn from experienced colleagues and project environments. Stay curious and engaged in tools techniques and best practices in project controls.

Cost & Risk Support:

Assist in cost monitoring activities including collecting updates on actuals and forecasts. Support identification and tracking of project risks and opportunities.

Project Scheduling & Reporting:

Learn and use scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 and MS Project to help build and maintain project timelines. Track progress against the plan helping flag any delays or deviations. Support preparation of internal and external reports on project status risks and progress.

Customer & Supplier Coordination:

Assist in schedule and progress coordination between GE teams customers and suppliers ensuring alignment of key milestones. Attend and contribute to project meetings helping capture actions update schedules and follow up with stakeholders. Travel as needed to client or supplier sites both within the UK and occasionally internationally.

What Were Looking For:

A driven individual with:

  • A degree or relevant qualification in engineering project management or a related field.
  • Strong analytical communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within crossfunctional teams.
  • Willingness to travel to customer or supplier sites as required.

The ideal candidate would also have (not essential):

  • Basic knowledge of project planning tools (e.g. Primavera P6 MS Project).
  • Familiarity with project environments in industrial or engineering sectors.
  • Interest in developing a career in project controls and delivery.
