VoIP SBC Engineer

The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos has an opening for a subject matter expert of Session Border Controllers (SBCs) on the DISA Defense Red Switch Network team in support of an enterprise VoIP management system GSMO II contract at Fort Meade MD. The successful candidate will have an SBC background responsible for the design deployment and maintenance of SBCs and their network and element management systems on a highpaced fastmoving program. The candidate will be a member of a team that interacts with technical and nontechnical individuals including customers and vendors but primarily with our subject matter expert teammates. In this role the candidate will provide technical assistance administer configurations upgrade software develop and/or update related documentation ensure applicable STIGs are applied and documented conduct and support testing on work performed recommend enhancements and troubleshoot and resolve issues associated with the various subsystems and network components.

Responsibilities:

• Leverage your technical background to understand the customers goals and identify the best integration solution for their needs
• Perform customer (end user) system integration by following instructions and executing processes
• Test and troubleshoot configurations to confirm successful integration
• Communicate with customers during integration and postintegration including responding to emails facilitating meetings or phone conversations participating in solving technical problems
• Author/update documentation
• Identify configuration errors and check appropriate log files to debug issues
• SBC NMS EMS Protect/Analytics PKI Certificate management

Core Qualifications:

• 12 years in VoIP/SIP/SBC engineering network engineering or telecom infrastructure
• Strong problemsolving and analytical skills for troubleshooting SIP VoIP and upgrade and integration issues
• Experience working in enterprise VoIP environments provisioning and maintaining the change management of routes
• Ability to write technical documentation design network diagrams and train teams
• Configuring Active/Standby SBC clusters load balancing and failover
• Knowledge of georedundancy SIP trunk failover strategies
• Troubleshooting packet loss jitter and latency issues using Wireshark or packet analyzers
• Strong knowledge of IP networking QoS VLANs BGP OSPF and DNS.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Detailoriented
• Expertisewith Ribbon SBCs and element and network management system product
• Telephony Routing and Translations skills
• Experience working with Virtual Machine cloud platforms
• Working knowledge of Linux/UNIX/VMware ESXi vSphere
• Knowledge of IP networking basic IP routing firewalls Switches and Security

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Oracle SBCs and element and network management systems
• Knowledge of Sonus carrier grade products is considered as significant advantage
