Job Description

Primary Purpose:

The Center for Educator Success is designed to transform educator talent pipelines by partnering with districts to reimagine a comprehensive approach to educator recruitment and retention. The Manager of Teacher Support will serve as a critical member of CESs teacher support team responsible for designing and delivering inspired programming.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • Masters degree from an accredited university preferred
  • Texas Teacher certification EC12

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Experience coaching teachers preferred
  • Excellent people skills: able to work in a dynamic environment and build trust with diverse stakeholders and colleagues
  • Constantly strive to be a great teammate to the teacher team and CES department. This means enthusiasm for selfreflection accountability ownership flexibility servant leadership mindfulness growth mindset thinking winwin proactive and thoughtful decisionmaking & being solutionoriented.
  • Ability to quickly establish relationships and credibility with internal and external audiences
  • Comfort with working both independently and in close collaboration with other team members
  • Strong track record of or have the potential to manage a small team of 13 direct reports in the future. (Initially this role will not have any direct reports.
  • Excellent project manager: can organize all the pieces of a large effort from beginning to end while attending to the big picture and the details with a focus on both relationships and results
  • Creative flexible thinker with a growth mindset
  • Strong ability to imagine and design new systems; can both ideate and implement at high levels. Can create the strategy and take action to implement the strategy

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in early learning

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Collaborate with the CES team to build an impactful and sustainable program model that serves teacher candidates during years 03 of service.
  2. Instill a passion for learning in teacher candidates by devoting time to your own professional learning and growth.
  3. Ensure compliance with the state requirements for educator preparation programs regulated by the Texas Administration Code.
  4. Utilize backward design practices to plan and develop course syllabus and coursework incorporating updated researchbased practices to ensure educator effectiveness.
  5. Design implement and deliver coursework/testprep both inperson and asynchronous that is relevant student centered and continuously improving based on feedback from colleagues supervisors and teacher candidates.
  6. Diligently seek professional development to remain abreast of best practices to support adult learners.
  7. Participate fully in teacher team professional learning on topics such as backward design practicebased learning transformational coaching etc.
  8. Serve as a Field Supervisor and coach to support the growth and development of new teachers.
  9. Design and deliver professional development and coaching to teachers during their internship year of the program.
  10. Support individual growth through calibration coaching feedback and data reviews to grow in your craft as a facilitator coach and educator.
  11. Maintain open clear collaborative and timely communication with all stakeholders (i.e. district partners school administrators teacher candidates colleagues).
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
