As a Board Certified Behavior Therapist at Elim youll be required to:
Supervision
- Oversee all behavior programming on their designated caseload
- Consult with other members of the Behavior Team regularly regarding behaviorrelated services techniques and updates. Conduct quarterly Behavior Review Committee (BRC) meetings and additional behaviorrelated meetings on an as needed basis
- Provide individual and group RBT supervision as outlined by the BACB
Direct Service to Students
- Conduct informal and formal behavior assessments of all students on caseload frequently monitor behavior of students throughout school day and collaborate with IEP team to create positive behavior change
- Develop Functional Behavior Analyses (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) in collaboration with the IEP team and other members of the Elim Behavior Team as needed for students who require behavior management services. Enter FBAs/BIPs into the appropriate IEP system (e.g. Embrace EasyIEP) and present plans at IEP meetings
- Collect graph and analyze student behavior data and present these data to the IEP team as appropriate
- Directly support the behavior of students according to approved procedures in various areas of the school environment
- Respond to crisis situations related to student behavior and utilize appropriate crisis management procedures to assure safety of staff and students
- Participates in all required meetings and completes all required sections of the IEP process
Consultation
- Collaborate with the students IEP team to develop and implement the students IEP
- Consult with parents and/or inhome support team and provide appropriate resources based on individual student need
- Assist with completion of various assessments on an as needed basis (i.e. VB MAPP ABLLS etc.
- Monitor behavior strategy implementation across all school environments
- Consult with transportation team and district when student behavior impedes the ability for safe transportation
- Consult with teachers and other members of a students interdisciplinary team about environmental structure regarding behavior concerns/issues including room arrangement schedule use communication etc.
- Maintain and assemble behaviorrelated instructional materials as needed
- Promote the utilization of proactive behavior strategies and least restrictive intervention
Instruction
- Educate staff on strategies to use when working with individuals who have disabilities
- Assist in teaching and modeling of staff data collection procedures appropriate general behavior management techniques proactive strategies positive behavior supports and behavior during crisis situations according to each students behavior plan
- Conduct Safety Care training for Elim staff
- Uses assessment/baseline data to develop vigorously appropriate IEPs goals as needed
General Program Support
- Assist classrooms and related service providers with the implementation of scheduled program activities as needed for behavior prevention and response throughout the school day and on community experiences as needed
- Assist with the transportation/transitional needs of students during arrival and dismissal
- Learn to use and assist in the care of equipment and devices that students may require (augmentative communication devices wheelchairs etc.
Required Education Licenses & Certifications:
- Masters degree in applied behavior analysis or related field
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification
Hours:
- Monday Friday 8:15 am 3:15 pm
- Includes a 6 week extended school year
Wages & Benefits:
- Starting pay of $77000 annually for regular and extended school year (more with experience and education)
