Clark College is currently accepting applications for a fulltime Tenuretrack Biology and Microbiology Professor. We are seeking a biologist/microbiologist with teaching experience whose primary teaching duties will be in Biology (Majors and General) Microbiology and other related courses as assigned. Department and college service work is expected with the position (as assigned by the division or college) to support the institutional mission and goals foremost being student success and retention. This position begins September 12 2025.

Position Responsibilities

FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Instruct all classes as an expert in the discipline using active learning approaches that both engage and facilitate student learning.
  • Advise and assist students in their educational and career development.
  • Pursue professional development to stay current in the field.
  • Perform administrative faculty mentoring and student advising duties as required.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues businesses advisory committees and other educational partners to create unique learning opportunities at Clark College.
  • Participate in decisionmaking processes by taking part in department and college committees.
  • Work well with people of all ages from academically culturally and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
  • Understand and commit to the mission of Clark College.
  • Work cooperatively in a variety of departmentlevel activities and college or companywide projects.
  • Pursue professional development to enhance teaching and learning in the department and College.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Instruct classes in Majors: Biology Microbiology and General Biology (the latter two for Allied Health students).
  • Enhance and apply knowledge of teaching and learning techniques.
  • Participate in program curriculum development and assessment activities and communitybased STEM outreach initiatives and events.
  • Participate in department and College undergraduate research classes and initiatives including industry connections

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Masters degree in Biology Microbiology or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Teaching experience.
  • Evidence of professional or research work experience that is specific to the field of Biology and/or Microbiology.

Supplemental Information

SALARY STATEMENT:

Starting salary is $78327 (nonnegotiable). Faculty may be eligible to advance every other year; current top step is $110332. Salary is for a 173day contract; additional compensation is available for summer and moonlight teaching and doctoral and vocational stipends. Please note the salary may be adjusted for theyear pending the legislatively funded costofliving.
