Position Overview: We are seeking a buyer to join our team! Land N Sea Distributing is a full service wholesale only distributor serving the Marine and RV industries for over 50 years. With thousands of different parts and accessories available from warehouses nationwide Land N Sea prides itself on fast efficient delivery throughout the US and Canada. In a cooperative effort with Mercury Marines Latin America and Caribbean division Land N Sea serves over 60 additional countries worldwide.

Essential Functions:
* Evaluate and review recommended order quantities and place purchase orders as needed to maintain appropriate service levels and maximize inventory turns for assigned vendors within budget
* Maintain appropriate purchasing system controls
* Demonstrate knowledge of commonly used concepts practices and procedures within the field and be able to understand and uphold quality standards methods and reporting as required
* Demonstrate advanced analytical and Microsoft Excel skills and ability to develop an analysis.
* Confers with vendors to obtain product information such as price availability and delivery schedule for nonstock special order items.
* Customer contact as needed to facilitate special order purchases
* Resolve receiving and accounts payable exceptions
* Perform expediting functions and update system expected arrival dates as appropriate
* Monitor purchase orders to affect pricing and part accuracy and ensure compliance with terms and conditions as established per vendor
* Perform other related duties as assigned
* Perform purchasing administrative functions including item database system maintenance and preparing price changes from vendors
Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however others can be developed along the way.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree in business administration or closely related field
* 3 years experience in purchasing inventory replenishment or supply chain management preferred
* Proven analytical ability and excellent EXCEL skills required i.e. (VLOOKUP Formulas Macros)
* Broad knowledge of marine and/or RV products preferred
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Strong interpersonal and business relationship skills
* Ability to work independently with vendors and internal clients
