Position Summary: The Mortgage Loan Officer works under minimal supervision to actively participate in business development activities and community efforts to solicit new residential mortgage business and originate CHN Housing Capital mortgage products/programs while meeting established loan quality guidelines and production goals. A comprehensive list of essential duties and responsibilities can be found below. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Represents the organization while soliciting potential or existing customers builders developers and realtors to develop increase and retain mortgage loan business.
- Interviews mortgage applicants to determine appropriate mortgage loan option; inputs application data into mortgage origination system and obtains necessary documentation for processing and underwriting purposes.
- Acts as a liaison between customer and internal support teams ensuring loans are processed approved and closed within established service level agreements.
- Keeps informed of new trends and developments within the local real estate market and analyzes potential loan markets to develop referral networks and to locate prospective loan clients.
- Participates in civic and community activities to generate organizational visibility and directs community development outreach initiatives within markets including homebuyer seminars and financial literacy programs.
- Delivers accurate responsive and courteous customer service to every customer (internal & external) every time.
- Adheres to internal guidelines policies procedures and regulatory standards.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Required: Education: - Associates degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Experience: - Minimum 5 years of experience in a lending banking or community developmentrelated industry preferably as a Loan Officer or working within a banks Community Reinvestment Act function.
- Proven track record of successful loan production.
Skills: - Knowledge of and the ability to apply advanced concepts practices and procedures in the assigned division as well as maintaining Federal and State regulatory compliance requirements for CHNHC lending products/programs.
- Demonstrating a commitment to professional ethics.
- Ability to create contacts and build relationships within a variety of communities and ethnic groups.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Selfmotivated with excellent problemsolving skills.
- Strong verbal written and interpersonal communication skills.

- Good leadership and management skills.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office with ability to learn new software.
Other: - Active NMLS license in good standing.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
- Valid drivers license reliable transportation and automobile insurance.
- Travel within Detroit Michigan market.
