About LPSD
Caterpillars Large Power Systems Division (LPSD) designs tests and manufactures 23 to 61L engines that are utilized in electric power generation. Caterpillars company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future.
The Opportunity
In this role you will be a NPI Program Leader within the 4000/5000 Product Management team reporting to the NPI Manager. You will manage multiple complex projects supporting future New Product Introduction (NPI) needs. You will work with and manage multiple crossfunctional project teams across different global sites covering projects that range from new business opportunities to product phase out. You will be part of a team responsible for delivering and maintaining world class engines meeting the commitments of today and preparing for the opportunities of the future.
The team is expanding to due to approval to new opportunities for the product and the associated NPI programs. This is an exciting opportunity to join this team and lead NPI programs engaging global teams and executing across multiple sites.
What You Will Do
Lead critical product related projects following the corporate New Product Introduction and other standard processes.
Initially the primary focus of this role is intended to be spark ignite / gas NPI program delivery.
Engage with multifunctional teams to ensure successful delivery of Project Objectives.
Provide leadership for tactical and strategic projects that support platform needs 23 to 61L).
Oversee creation of project plans and maintaining the plan schedule in support of Gateway / Customer introduction needs ensuring program financials functional requirements cost targets and Gateway commitments are met.
Communicate program status to stakeholders and the broader organization ensuring alignment on progress and direction.
Lead crossfunctional team reviews to evaluate opportunities address and resolve issues and remove barriers.
Identify evaluate and deliver against opportunities to optimize cost and profitability for the platform 23 to 61L)
Work closely with other Product and Program Managers to ensure that projects are aligned with platforms long term strategic requirements and 5to10year technology plan in terms of volumes growth and technology evolution.
What You Must Have
Successful candidates will have broad project delivery experience excellent project leadership skills and are seeking program ownership. They are problem solvers determined to provide the best solutions for our customers and our business. Key skills and experiences:
Project Leadership: Ability to plan organize monitor and control a set of projects ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve program requirements.
Effective Communication: Understanding of effective communication concepts tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit receive and accurately interpret ideas information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Experience in decisionmaking processes and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive conclusions based on informed judgment under time pressure.
Customer Focus: Understanding of the customer needs and priorities. Ability to translate into requirements and program objectives and monitor and report on delivery as well as facilitate customer feedback issue management and solution development.
Keen sense of accountability excellent team working skills with personal drive flexible approach and a commitment to ensure our platform / customer program are delivered OnTime to demanding Technical Quality & Cost Targets.
Collaboration Globally: Knowledge of effective collaboration techniques and ability to build networks with people from different countries and cultures think and work with them to bring positive impact and flourishing business results.
Knowledge of spark ignite / gas engine and associated electric power application and services would be greatly beneficial
What You Will Get

You will manage projects and programs that cover endtoend product development from Concept Design to Production to Aftermarket Support. Additional Information
Located in Mossville IL (Building AC) or Lafayette IN.
This position is currently a hybrid inoffice work model requiring 3day weekly office presence onsite at the facility with remote work for the remaining days. However work arrangements may be adjusted at any time based on business needs.
