Position Summary/Purpose:

Grand Canyon University (GCU) maintains relationships with nonprofit organizations identified by the IRS as 501(c)3 by virtue of their charitable programs. The collective mission of 501(c)3 organizations in the Phoenix Valley is to improve the quality of life for community residents or to solve particular problems related to those residents needs.

GCU maintains a partnership with Rehoboth CDC at 2650 W. Hazelwood Street Phoenix AZ 85017. Rehoboth CDSs mission is to improve the quality of life for low to moderateincome families in Phoenix and the Canyon Corridor neighborhoods. The CSLP student workers work schedule is dependent on the hours of operations and needs of Rehoboth CDC; however CSLP student workers may not work more than 20 hours per week during the academic year (i.e. fall/spring).

CSLP: This position has been reviewed and approved as Community Service as defined by 34 CFR 675.2(b). Per 34 CFR 675.2(b) community services are defined as Services which are designed to improve the quality of life for community residents particularly lowincome individuals or to solve particular problems related to their need. These services must be open and accessible to the community.

As an FWSCSLP approved position its services will be offered to nonGCU community members (i.e. local residents).

Note: All FWS and FWSCSLP positions require applicants to complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at https://studentaid/h/applyforaid/fafsa to be reviewed for FWSeligibility and awarded FWS.

Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:

The People Educating and Centering Efforts (PEACE) Youth Enrichment
Program collaborates with partners throughout Maricopa County to engage K12 youth within Canyon Corridor neighborhoods in outofschool activities and education. Applicant must be available in May Monday through Friday from 2:30pm to 6:30pm as well as in June and July Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 2:30pm.
