What you will work on

At FERNRIDE we call the team that provides most of the services and infrastructure as well as verification efforts the Engineering and Verification Ecosystems (EVE) team. As the foundation of Fernride engineering the EVE team is poised to build the most productive engineering team in the world with an engineering system that scales rocksolid cloud platforms and world class verification. From source management to deploying to individual vehicles roaming around different yards from distributed building/testing to orchestrating containerbased integration tests in the cloud from customizing and installing OSs and firmware to building CLI and web services and applications we have it all covered.

We are currently seeking an Autonomous and Teleoperation System Test Engineer (f/d/m to join our growing team in Germany. The ideal candidate is not afraid to get handson with our system in order to better understand how to expand our system test catalogue automate things using scripting languages and enjoys working closely with developers. This role requires a techsavvy professional with a proactive attitude and indepth understanding of how technology can help us achieve our business goals.

How you will leave your footprint

  • designing developing implementing and managing test plans for new projects and software developments in close collaboration with our developers
  • executing test cases and scenarios in realworld conditions in different environments and locations
  • creating tooling and automations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our testing procedures
  • making efficient use of different test environments (HIL Simulation) as well as of our vehicles and other testing tools and equipment
  • coordinating with developers system engineers and project managers to understand system requirements and specify tests to ensure the systems are functioning according to these requirements
  • championing issue documentation to ensure that anomalies with our system are properly documented addressed and tested
  • providing clear communication on a regular basis with the team about test progress anomalies risks and related matters

What you will bring to the team

  • 5 years of experience in relevant areas
  • Strong system testing skills (test automation capabilities are a plus)
  • Software testing skills are a plus
  • Understanding of Linux operating system internals (ROS2 experience is a plus) and handson experience
  • Experience with software development projects and software release cycles
  • Experience with working on larger software systems
  • Proven track record of requirementbased testing is a plus
