Worker Type: Hybrid (minimum of 3 days in office per week following completion of induction and probation subject to service needs)

About the Role

At Nottingham City Council we have an unwavering commitment to providing our community with secure and sustainable housing options.You may be aware that in November 2023 Nottingham City Councils Chief Finance Officer issued a report under Section 1143 of the Local Government Finance Act 1988 because in his professional opinion the council wasnt able to deliver a balanced budget which is a legal requirement.This does not mean however that the council is bankrupt or insolvent.

The financial implications of the Section 114 report have been balanced against the councils statutory duties particularly in relation to safeguarding and homelessness and the funding of this permanent post has been approved by the councils Spend Control Board.

As a Social Lettings Officer your primary objectives will be to enhance accessibility to private sector housing options and play a pivotal role in preventing homelessness. You will be forefront of early intervention efforts offering crucial support to individuals and families facing housing challenges. Your dedication to fostering sustainable housing solutions will make a lasting impact on the wellbeing of our community.

In this dynamic role you will work collaboratively with various stakeholders. Your responsibilities will extend to developing and implementing strategies to improving housing options ensuring that everyone in our community has access to safe and sustainable accommodation.
