Shipping Clerk
HIGHLIGHTS
Location: Phoenix AZ
Position Type: Direct Hire
Hourly / Salary: Based on Experience
Residency Status: US Citizen or Green Card Holder ONLY
Our client is looking for a Shipping Clerk to join their team!
Job Description:
Under minimal supervision perform all tasks associated with shipping product to customers including but not limited to: Examining verifying accuracy processing shipping documents manifests invoices bills of lading. Processing shipments on UPS World Ship and FedEx Ship Manager manifest systems as well as other carriers. Confer and correspond with customer shipping notifications systems and export brokers as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scans packing slip to ensure switches cleared Get Ready scanning process.
- Weighs and addresses parcels crates of merchandise or material.
- Prepares individual labels and individually packages items according to work instructions and then containerizes by customer/order requirements.
- Attaches postage or creates and attaches bill of lading.
- Keeps records of goods shipped.
- Fills out reports on shipment shortages and damaged materials.
- Verifies compliance to export regulations and processes.
- Actual movement of goods into and out of the shipping area is also required.
- Maintains an adequate supply of packaging supplies and freight bills for products to be shipped.
- Keeps quality up to acceptable standards with little discrepant work.
- Performs tasks equal to or exceeding established standards.
Skills and Requirements:
- Examining and verifying accuracy
- Processing shipping documents
- Manifests invoices bills of lading
- Processing shipments on UPS World Ship and FedEx Ship Manager manifest systems as well as other carriers.
- Confer and correspond with customer shipping notifications systems and export brokers as required.
- Process via AES applicable export shipments.
- Strong understanding of logistics supply chain management and shipping procedures.
Experience with shipping software (namely Shipstation) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
Additional skills:
- Excellent organizational and problemsolving skills along with ability to think outside the box (literally and figuratively) and come up with shipping solutions that dont always have a clear answer
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality and efficiency.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Fork lift operation skills a plus
- Basic knowledge of shipment methods procedures and carriers for both domestic and international.
- Manual dexterity to safely and proficiently operate or utilize general office equipment measurement scales stepstools and loading carts.
- Ability to read write and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
- Ability to react to changes productively and perform other essential tasks as assigned.
- Effective time management skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Continuous improvement focus.
- Availability flexibility and maturity to represent the Company.
- Ability to work well with only a modest amount of repeated instructions.
- Conducts himself/herself in a businesslike and civil manner.
- Be team oriented and possess flexibility and adaptability.
Experience:
- 1 years of experience in shipping warehouse or similar facility
- Six months or more of related experience is highly desirable.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED
