Partner Staffing on behalf of our Client we are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic team in either Vancouver or Kelowna. You ll be responsible for mechanical design and coordination across a wide range of building projects including commercial residential institutional recreational and governmental facilities. This role requires deep technical expertise leadership capability and a strong command of Revitbased workflows.
Requirements
You ll play a pivotal role in developing mechanical systems including HVAC plumbing and fire protection coordinating closely with architects structural and electrical teams and managing documentation through all projects phases from schematic design through construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design process for building projects from concept to construction.
- Develop detailed mechanical system layouts using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Coordinate mechanical designs with other disciplines using BIM workflows.
- Mentor and oversee junior designers and technologists.
- Prepare design reports equipment schedules and specifications.
- Conduct site reviews and support construction administration.
- Attend client and consultant meetings presenting technical solutions confidently.
- Ensure designs meet applicable building codes standards and sustainability guidelines (e.g. ASHRAE LEED NECB).
- Manage workload independently while collaborating in a teamoriented environment.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field.
- 7 years of mechanical design experience in the buildings industry.
- Strong proficiency in Revit is mandatory.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD BIM360 and Navisworks is a strong asset.
- Experience designing systems for various sectors (e.g. commercial residential institutional etc..
- Familiarity with mechanical codes and standards including BCBC ASHRAE and NFPA.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Eligibility for AScT or P.Eng. is an asset but not required.
