One of our clients is seeking a System Administrator to support the stability security and performance of the agency s server and application infrastructure. This is a shortterm position with a firm end date of June 30 2025 with no possibility of extension. Candidates must be available to work onsite Monday through Wednesday.
The System Administrator will be responsible for monitoring performance applying security best practices resolving server issues and supporting operational readiness for internal and external audits.
Monitor and manage server and application performance ensuring operational efficiency and security
Enforce and implement security configurations aligned with best practices and compliance standards
Support audit preparedness and documentation collaborating with internal teams to close findings
Perform routine and emergency server maintenance applying patches and security updates
Review logs and system metrics to identify and address potential server issues proactively
Respond to and resolve performance bottlenecks system errors and vulnerabilities
Support backup and disaster recovery procedures ensuring data integrity and availability
Provide backup support for other operational team members as needed
Maintain detailed documentation of server configurations procedures and best practices
Proficiency in Windows Server and Linux/Unixbased systems
Experience with server performance monitoring tools (e.g. Nagios SolarWinds Zabbix)
Knowledge of security tools and practices: antivirus encryption system hardening firewalls
Familiarity with automation and scripting tools for server administration (e.g. PowerShell Bash Ansible)
Handson experience with virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware HyperV VirtualBox)
Experience implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions for server infrastructure
Solid understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP DNS DHCP VPN Load Balancing
CompTIA Network or equivalent foundational networking certification
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) Windows Server expertise
ITIL Foundation Understanding of IT service management principles
