Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer with 35 years of experience to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network infrastructure security and troubleshooting. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage and optimize our network systems to ensure seamless and secure operations.
Responsibilities:
- Design implement and manage network infrastructure including routers switches firewalls and wireless systems.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality.
- Implement and maintain network security measures including firewalls VPNs and intrusion detection systems.
- Conduct regular network assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with IT team members to support and enhance network services.
- Provide technical support and guidance to endusers and other IT staff.
- Maintain documentation of network configurations processes and procedures.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure the network infrastructure remains current and secure.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- 35 years of experience in network engineering or a similar role.
- CompTIA Network and Security certifications are required.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols routing and switching.
- Experience with network security tools and practices.
- Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud networking (e.g. AWS Azure).
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g. SolarWinds Wireshark).
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Python Bash) for network automation.
