POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Facilities and Maintenance plays a critical role in ensuring safe wellmaintained and operationally efficient facilities that support the agency s mission to serve youth and families. Overseeing the operations of 15 sites this position ensures that all facilities provide a secure and welcoming environment for staff clients and visitors. The Director leads a team of facilities and maintenance professionals ensuring that the physical spaces reflect the agency s commitment to excellence safety and inclusivity.
This role requires a leader with strong supervisory skills a deep understanding of facility maintenance and a dedication to working in diverse environments. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating and maintaining safe spaces that allow our programs to thrive and support the wellbeing of the youth and families we serve.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and schedule daily maintenance and operations across 15 sites ensuring cleanliness functionality and compliance with safety standards.
- Implement and manage preventative maintenance plans to extend the lifespan of equipment and infrastructure.
- Develop strategies to improve facility efficiency aligning with the agency s commitment to sustainability and resource management.
- Supervise and support a diverse team of maintenance professionals fostering collaboration inclusivity and excellence.
- Provide training and mentorship to ensure staff have the necessary skills to maintain highquality facilities.
- Ensure compliance with local state and federal safety regulations including OSHA fire codes and accessibility requirements.
- Lead emergency preparedness initiatives including facility safety drills crisis response planning and hazard prevention.
- Develop and manage the facilities and maintenance budget ensuring costeffective solutions without compromising quality or safety.
- Oversee vendor contracts for repairs renovations and security systems ensuring highquality service and cost efficiency.
- Lead renovation and improvement projects ensuring they align with programmatic needs and enhance the experience of youth and families.
Requirements
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma
- The following certifications or licenses will be considered a bonus: Certified Facility Manager (CFM) Facility Management Professional (FMP) Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) OSHA 30Hour General Industry Certification Certified Safety Professional (CSP) EPA Section 608 Certification Certified Energy Manager (CEM) Journeyman or Master Electrician/Plumber Licenses Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) Fire Safety Director Certification
EXPERIENCE:
- 57 years of supervisory experience
- Certification in facilities management (CFM FMP or similar)
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
- Familiarity with nonprofit or human services facility operations
- Driver s License
