What you will be doing:
- Collaborate with Senior Project Leaders on schematic design including mechanical and electrical room sizes and requirements.
- Transform design concepts into development and construction documents.
- Guide Entry Level Designers and Senior Designers by reviewing their work and providing mentorship.
- Prepare design specifications and participate in companywide projects like BIM and Standards.
- Lead trade coordination and execute complex design tasks including mechanical and electrical room layouts.
- Attend construction meetings generate observation reports and conduct construction inspections.
- Coordinate clearances with other design professionals and select appropriate project details.
- Document existing conditions troubleshoot issues and conduct code research and evaluations.
- Prepare addendums change orders and additional service requests.
- Offer value engineering and participate in trade QA/QC to ensure compliance with design standards.
- Support the firm’s outreach and marketing efforts to enhance visibility and thought leadership.
- Leverage resources across locations and time zones to meet project goals.
- Act as the responsible agent on commissioning and construction management projects.
- Innovate and enhance job functions and firm operations.
Experience you will need:
- 5 years of design experience with an MEP/Consulting firm.
- 10 years of overall experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering required.
- FE required; LEED and/or PE preferred.
- Proficient in design software and knowledgeable in CAD/BIM operations.
- General knowledge of mechanical and electrical system design.
- Capable of working within a project team.
- Understanding and knowledge of applicable codes.
- Keeps up with the latest advancements in design specialties through continued education.
