JOB SUMMARY
The Engineering Summer /Coop Student will work at EVRAZ NAs Quality department at the EVRAZ Calgary pipe manufacturing facility located in southeast Calgary AB for a period of 4 or 8 months. As a member of the Process Control group they will participate in tubular specialized testing projects mill process optimization trials process control and time studies. The successful applicant will use investigative techniques such as statistical process control process analyses data collection and analyses and will have exposure to mechanical testing and metallographic analyses. The position will provide exposure to all aspects of EVRAZ NA Calgary operations including pipe forming welding heat treatment and threading.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Statistical process control and process improvement studies 70
- Evaluation and analysis of results
- Preparation of formal report and review with stakeholder
- Specialized testing program coordination 25
- Collapse testing management for both Calgary and Red Deer facilities

- Trial Support 5
- Onsite presence to collect data answer questions and ensure data/samples are collected.
- Conduct process analyses
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Enrolled in a recognized Engineering program at a Canadian University and completed a minimum of 1 year of the program.
- Preference will be given those in Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering based programs
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge of engineering principles including statics and strength of materials
- Previous exposure to steel manufacturing and testing processes would be a bonus
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Selfstarter with passion for improvement
- Good organization skills and commitment to safety
