About the role

We regularly recruit Law Graduates throughout the year which isdependent on specific practice area needs. Our Melbourne officeencompasses over 10 different practice groups including Corporate& Commercial Building & Construction Property &Leasing Workplace Law Administrative Law Insurance andLitigation.

Each year our Partners and lawyers are recognised in severalpublications by their clients and peers as experts in theirfield.

We care about and invest in future talent. As a Law Graduate atMoray & Agnew you will work closely with and be mentored byPartners and senior lawyers.

Following a structured induction program the invaluableexperience you will gain will be learned on the job. You willalso have access to our learning and development program ourmentoring program and the Emerging Lawyers Network.

The experience you can expect to gain depends on the practicearea although generally you will gain experience in:
Legal research tasks
Preparing court documents for litigated matters
Discovery of documents
Drafting legal documents and correspondence
Attending client meetings and shadowing mediations andinformal settlements
Running small litigated matters from start to finish.

About you

You will have completed your law degree and may be currentlycompleting your post graduate studies and PLT or about to startyour post graduate studies.

You are motivated resourceful and enthusiastic. You should beeager to learn and develop and be passionate about a career inlaw.

You will have strong academic results and beyond your academicsuccesses you also possess the ability to apply your criticalthinking skills.

The work requires attention to detail practical problemsolvingskills initiative and strategic thinking. We are also looking forsomeone with a good sense of humour and a desire to work closelywith a group of high energy and hardworking successful lawyers.

To be successful in this role you will need to possess thefollowing qualities:

• Enthusiasm and initiative
• The ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Importantly you have a teamoriented personality and thriveworking in a team environment.
