Job Description

The payroll coordinator will be responsible for ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. They also handle payroll taxes deductions benefits and compliance with federal state and local laws. The payroll coordinator works closely with the human resources and accounting departments as well as with external agencies and vendors.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll for salaried and hourly employees including overtime bonuses commissions and other payments on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Review and verify time sheets attendance records and payroll reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Resolve payroll issues and inquiries from employees managers and external parties in a timely fashion
  • Maintain and update payroll records files and systems in compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Coordinate with human resources and accounting departments to ensure proper administration of benefits deductions and reimbursements.
  • Perform payroll audits reconciliations and adjustments as needed.
  • Stay updated on the latest payroll trends best practices and legislation.
  • Provide payrollrelated reports and analysis to management and stakeholders.
  • Assist in yearly 401k audit(s)
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.

Education/Experience:

  • Associates degree or higher in accounting finance business administration related field or equivalent work experience.
  • At least two years of experience in payroll processing preferably in a large and complex organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Excel and payroll software such as UKG/KRONOS Paychex .
  • Knowledge of payroll principles practices and regulations including federal state and local tax laws in all states
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred.

Travel Requirements:

  • Flexibility to travel on short notice for urgent business needs to attend meetings trainings and events.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance during business trips.
  • Compliance with company travel policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer phone printer scanner and other office equipment.
  • Visual acuity for detailed work and computer use
  • Ability to lift carry and move up to 25 pounds of files documents and materials.
