Embark on an exciting journey as Junior Technical Superintendent (TSI) based in Gabon Port Gentil. Together with other TSIs you will be the first point of contact regarding the vessels technical readiness machinery and integrity. You are responsible for ensuring that preventive and corrective maintenance is conducted in line with statutory requirements as well as company standards. You have a big contribution in maximizing the uptime and timely planning of periodic maintenance through overhauls and dry dockings.
Your responsibilities as a Junior Technical Superintendent (TSI) are:
- Be the focal point for Captain and Chief Engineer on any technical related matter on board.
- Maintain all statutory class flag and SOLAS certification.
- Monitor Maintenance and Repair is conducted as per the companys Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
- Ensure the PMS is being followed and executed by the crew on board.
- Work as a team with other TSI on site.
- Be involved in the procurement process between vessel and procurement department ensuring correct and timely ordering of spares and service.
- Act as point of contact for the procurement department ensuring parts are ordered as per the specifications and requirements.
- Coordinate and supervise external services intervention e.g. AC hydraulic Electrical Radio mechanical structural.
- Frequent visit of the vessels and ensure compliance through Vessel Technical Inspections.
- Follow up all safety equipment on board (LSA & FFS)
- Assist the engine room department during internal repairs and maintenance.
- Ensure deficiencies are reported correctly and actioned.
- Ensure proper implementation of the Safety Management System (SMS) procedures related to maintenance on board.
- Ensure effective and efficient control of spare parts and replacement and maintaining a critical spares part list.
- Assist procurement with spare parts inventory.
- Responsible for Monitoring the Maintenance & Repair (RMR) expenditures against the budget.
- Appraise the performance of Chief Engineers as well as being involved in the recruitment process for new engineers.
- Periodical technical reporting to the Cluster CEMAC TSI.
- Timely planning and preparation of RMR budgets together with the Cluster CEMAC TSI.
Qualifications :
Do you reside in Gabon or are you willing to work there on rotation at our base in Port Gentil
You are fluent in both English and French. You have:
- 1 to 3 years work experience on board or as technical superintendent
- Experience as ETO or Chief Engineer
- Bachelors degree in maritime technical or electrical engineering.
- Experience working on board oceangoing/offshore vessels as Marine Engineer or as Ships Technical Superintendent.
