To: PreK5 Teaching/Coaching/Administrator Personnel Brockton Public SchoolsFrom: Dr. Kathleen Moran Assistant Superintendent of Human ResourcesSubject: BPS/Childrens Museum of Easton Family Night EducatorFunding is available for up to 10 Brockton Public Schools educators to support BPS Family Night at the Childrens Museum of Easton. The event will be held on April 11 2025 at the Childrens Museum of Easton 9 Sullivan Avenue North Easton. PreK and Kindergarten students each with a parent/guardian in attendance will enter the museum for a special night of play just for Brockton Public Schools. BPS educators will spend the evening interacting with students and parents/guardians with a special focus on modeling how play can be leveraged to develop oral language skills. Qualifications:Currently teaching coaching or leading literacy instruction at the elementary level.Experience facilitating literacy focused learning.Familiar with how to nurture oral language skills as a strong foundation for future reading success.Objectives:Model for parents/guardians in attendance strategies for interacting with students during play to foster oral language skills.Interact with parents/guardians to build positive relationships and share literacy learning information/answer questions.Further develop ones own skill in engaging with families to support literacy learning.Expectations:Attend one 1hour virtual meeting prior to April 11 2025 on a date that is mutually agreed uponPrepare for meeting noted above by reading/reviewing related materialsAttend BPS Family Night at the Childrens Museum Easton on April 11 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. As a note families attend from 4:306:30Compensation: Stipend $200.00 for full participation in all activities noted above.Funding Source: Title II FY24
