SUMMARY

Based in the Business division of Storm Water Services this position will be responsible for mobile device management and overall technical support for staff across all divisions of Storm Water Services.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Mobile device management including ordering and deployment of new devices software update testing maintaining billing information in Verizon admin portal managing devices within Intune portal auditing disconnections and troubleshooting issues.
  • Provides general technical support troubleshooting and problem resolution for all Storm Water Services divisions.
  • Provides hardware support including troubleshooting repairs coordinating with the vendor if necessary and providing temporary devices to users.
  • Image and deployment of new hardware for full time employees and contractors.
  • Maintain up to date hardware inventory database which includes desktops laptops docking stations monitors and other related equipment.
  • Manages and provides coordination for projects related to technology refresh and enterprise upgrades.
  • Monitor service request management system for user tickets and issue research.
  • Research and testing for new hardware or software as required by the business.
  • Provide general support for printers and plotters.
  • Coordinates and serves as a liaison for technology services and enterprise projects.
  • Support Storm Water Services staff located at three locations: 4100 West Tyvola Rd Charlotte Mecklenburg Government Center and Belmont Center.
  • Facilitate use of City service desk to support applications business service requests and address issues.
  • Responsible for facilitating the surplus process to dispose of all hardware removed from service.
  • Maintain technical and process documentation.
  • Participates in regular project and/or team meetings to discuss project activities and share information with team members.
  • Consistent presence in the office to provide in person support for staff.

  • Modern office procedures methods and computer equipment

  • Current and upcoming City and departmental hardware and software specifications and needs
  • Principles and practices of inventory management
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and develop creative solutions
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently or in a team
  • Provide timely and efficient customer service
  • Meet project schedules and deadlines
  • Accurately organize and maintain technical documentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 products

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with computer repairs
  • Knowledge of computer imaging
  • Knowledge of mobile device management

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least two years of relevant collegelevel course work or an Associates degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field
  • Three 3 to five 5 years of experience in information technology support including hardware software and networking
  • Any equivalent combination of training education and experience that provides the required skills knowledge and abilities

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
