Job Description

The Role:
The Sales Specialist supports the Destination Sales Department by responding to inquiries and converting small group leads to the Las Vegas destination. This position is expected to be detailed and deadlineoriented with an emphasis on delivering exceptional service to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authoritys internal and external customers.

What Youll Accomplish:
Keep in mind that this list is not allinclusive.

  • Sales Lead Development:
    • Oversee the small meetings market for the destination for the assigned territory.
    • Qualify and distribute sales leads of 10150 rooms on peak for the assigned market to Las Vegas and Clark County mission partners while working toward an annual room night and lead goal in terms of leads generated and converted.
  • Site and Event Support:
    • Coordinate customer events site inspections and industry shows as assigned.
    • Support the Directors National Sales Managers and Client Experience team with customer service needs when requested and input trace activity into the CRM.
    • Plan and attend site visits within the guidelines as required for the assigned market.
    • Conduct meetandgreet services as needed for accounts visiting Las Vegas for site inspections preplanning meetings or industry events.
  • Business Development & Prospecting:
    • Proactively identify research and cultivate new business opportunities within the assigned market.
    • Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective accounts through targeted outreach networking and industry engagement. Leverage market insights and CRM tools to track leads nurture relationships and drive new business growth.
  • Brand Representation:
    • Be a consultative destination expert for customers mission partners and the team.
    • Develop knowledge of the destination sales disciplines industry trends economic and product developments and other factors that may affect customers decision to utilize Las Vegas.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Maintain client information in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and other databases. Understand and record reasons for lost business.
    • Prepare administrative documents and management responsibilities that support sales activities.

What Were Looking For

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Two years of experience in hotel or DMO sales coordination and a minimum of one year of related administrative experience
  • Destination marketing resort industry or sales coordination experience preferred
  • Ability to primarily work in the sales office
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team and other departments
  • Ability to learn retain and follow specific operational guidelines rules and policies
  • Strong attention to detail in composing and proofing materials and data entry
  • Exceptional time management organization and prioritization to manage multiple projects to meet deadlines with minimal oversight
  • Above average written and verbal communication skills to effectively present information and respond to questions from diverse groups of managers clients vendors customers and the general public
  • Demonstrate commitment to valuing differences among individuals and being inclusive
  • Proficient with office equipment and Microsoft Office products i.e. Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook etc.
  • Ability to conduct evening client entertainment when required
  • Ability to travel for a minimum of two sales trips annually
