College Faculty for Sociology

The Department of Communication and Sociology at Abilene Christian University located in Abilene Texas is accepting applications for a college faculty position in Sociology at the rank of college faculty to begin in August 2025.

Responsibilities:

Candidates will be required to teach 4 undergraduate courses per semester direct the sociology minor and assess sociology courses for general education. They will teach a broad range of undergraduate courses in sociology from introductory to upperlevel courses.The ideal candidate is a teacher dedicated to mentoring undergraduate students particularly those from diverse backgrounds.All applicants should demonstrate a record of excellent classroom teaching. Applicants must have strong communication skills and an interest in the development of students.

The Department/Program:

The Department of Communication and Sociology at Abilene Christian University provides undergraduate majors in Communication and Sociology with minors in Communication Sociology Leadership Studies and Aging Studies. Additionally the department offers an MA in Communication. Departmental faculty contribute regularly to interdisciplinary programs such as Africana Studies Gender and Multicultural Studies the PreLaw Program and the Honors Program.
