This is a fulltime position working 40hours/week) MondayFriday working onsite at 51 Clemson Rd. Columbia SC in an office environment.
Position Purpose:
Oversees payroll staff duties implements procedural changes ensures the accuracy and timeliness of payroll data and resolves issues within the assigned area
What Youll Do:
Researches analyzes and resolves payroll issues. Suggest process improvements and identified potential issues.
Performs quality control functions runs/reviews reports to ensure accuracy. Researches and resolves any discrepancies found.
Leads/guides staff in providing excellent customer service to all customers/employees/former employees/banks/other external agencies. Handles any escalated issues that may arise. Identifies and provides training for staff. May address performance staffing and employee issues.
To Qualify for This Position Youll Need:
Required Education: Bachelors in a job related field with 24 semester hours of Accounting
Degree Equivalency: 4 years job related work experience or Associates and 2 years job related work experience
Required Work Experience: 3 years of payroll accounting finance or tax experience. 1 year of lead or supervisory experience OR equivalent military experience in grade E4 or above. Can be concurrent.
Required Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated proficiency in word processing spreadsheet software. Good judgment skills. Effective organizational customer service presentation skills. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in spelling punctuation grammar skills. Knowledge of mathematical or statistical concepts. Ability to persuade negotiate or influence others. Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion. Ability to lead motivate and assess performance of staff.
Required Software and Other Tools: Microsoft Office.

Preferred Software and Other Tools: Working knowledge of Microsoft Access or other database software
Preferred Licenses and Certificates: CPP
Work Environment: Typical office environment. Some travel between office buildings. Some out of town travel.
