1About the position:
The Subsea Pipeline Engineer is a member of the Subsea Civil and Marine Engineering team in the Chevron ENGINE Center. This role provides pipeline engineering expertise to the Upstream Major Capital Projects and Base Business teams. This involves developing technology delivering scheduled and urgent consulting and problemsolving services collaborating across disciplines and updating Chevron specifications.
Key responsibilities:
Support design assurance risk assessments project scoping concept selection preFEED FEED detailed design manufacturing fabrication installation precommissioning and operation of subsea flowlines and export pipelines.
Provide design and advanced design verification support services for Chevron projects worldwide related to concept design procurements fabrication qualification testing installation precommissioning and integrity management.
Managing innovation and technology development efforts overseeing qualification testing programs directing the commercialization and deployment of technologies and creating and implementing digital solutions to enhance pipeline discipline workflows.
Maintenance and improvement of the Chevron pipeline specifications.
Promotes innovation technology development and deployment and continuous improvement in pipeline engineering. It requires engaging in crossdisciplinary collaboration participating in industry technical bodies and influencing industry standards and best practices.
Supports risk evaluations implementing mitigation strategies and fostering a culture focused on safety reliability and efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
MS (or equivalent) in mechanical or subsea engineering
Ability to obtain medical and security clearances to travel internationally to offshore Company facilities and work on contractor offshore vessels
Prior experience managing and executing subsea pipelines design installation and precommissioning projects.
Field experience constructing and installing offshore disciplines related facilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
5 yrs relevant industry experience in the design engineering manufacture and operation of subsea pipelines and associated equipment
Demonstrated familiarity and use of relevant subsea pipeline software that includes Orcaflex Offpipe DnV and relevant engineering programs.
Familiar with Finite Element Analyses and either ANSYS or ABAQUS programs.
Demonstrated familiarity with industry codes and standards along with lessons learned and best practices to the work related to subsea pipelines and flowlines.
Performed relevant engineering for offshore pipelines PreFEED and FEED that included detailed design manufacturing fabrication installation precommissioning and operation of subsea flowlines and export pipelines.
Experience with advanced and complex analyses for deepwater and high pressure and high temperature pipelines to improve predictions and simplify mitigation methods
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1:30pm to 10:30pm.
Chevron participates in EVerify in certain locations as required by law.
Full-Time
