We seek applicants for aDirect Support Professional (DSP)Technology Assisted Specialist role.
Job Summary: Technologyassisted residential support utilizes enablingtechnology to increase participants independence with a reduced need for onsite staff. In addition to the core responsibilities of a Direct Support Professional (DSP) the DSPTechnologyAssisted Specialist will focus on integrating implementing and supporting assistive and enabling technologies to enhance the independence and quality of life of individuals receiving services. This role requires specialized training in assistive technology and a commitment to promoting personcentered technological solutions.
Job Status: Fulltime Schedule: 12:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m.
FLSA Status: nonexempted
Key Responsibilities: - Attends to participants needs which may include assistance with grooming choosing appropriate dress bathing oral hygiene feeding incontinence care toileting transferring ambulation range of motion communicating and/or any needs participant has listed in Plan of Care.
- Ensures the nutritional needs of the participants in their homes by preparing and/or assisting with meals (including cooking) as needed. Assists with weekly grocery shopping and adherence of prescribed diets.
- Aids each participant to reach goals as outlined on the participants service plans.
- Aids each participant in exploring opportunities for community involvement and documents community involvements on appropriate record(s).
- Contributes to the development of enriching activities for individuals supported.
- Assesses the technology needs of participants receiving support and identify appropriate assistive and enabling technology solutions.
- Trains participants families and staff on the use of assistive technology ensuring accessibility and ease of use.
- Assists in the setup configuration and troubleshooting of assistive devices smart home technology and other supportive tools.
- Maintains documentation related to technology assessments training and ongoing support.
- Provides remote supports for activities of daily living and monitors the electronic remote supports system should the individual need assistance have questions or require emergency services.
- Provides general protective oversight through remote supports by monitoring system and sensor alerts.
- Provides 11 remote support coaching upon request or as directed by the participants support plan.
