Job Description
JD: DBA
Location Airoli Navi Mumbai
- Setup and maintenance of new or existing infrastructure of MS SQL server.
- Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure database services applications etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
- Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures
- Perform daily system/Database monitoring verifying the integrity and availability of all the databases and server resources systems and key processes reviewing database logs and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups application jobs and DB maintenance activities.
- Perform daily backup/restore operations ensuring all required database systems are successfully backed up to the appropriate media recovery tapes or disks are created and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary
- Create change and delete database user accounts along with permission as per request. Periodic review of user access rights.
- Create change and monitor SQL jobs as well as DB maintenance activities such as reindex shrinking as per application team requirement.
- Provide Tier II (Level 2 /other support per request from various customers/internal teams. Investigate and troubleshoot database level performance issues SQL Profiler DTA Perfmon etc.
- Configuration and troubleshooting of database Log shipping Replication Mirroring and Clustering technologies.
- Repair and recover the database from failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted stakeholders.
- Apply SQL patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
- SSIS and SSRS integration
- SQL database up gradation knowledge
- Knowledge of IIS .NET based application is an added advantage.
- Maintain operational configuration or other procedures
- Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
- Perform ongoing performance tuning hardware upgrades and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU memory and disk partitions as required.
- Maintain database environmental and monitoring equipment.
- Perform Change Management as per the process
- Responsible for preparing RCA document for Severity 1 & Severity 2 calls
