Job Description
Job Title: Maintenance Assistant
Location: Remote Flyin Camp Nunavut
Rotation: 4 weeks on 2 weeks off
Background Checks: Drug & Alcohol screening and criminal record check required
Position Overview:
Tamatta Mining & Construction is recruiting for one of our esteemed clients seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals for the role of Maintenance Assistant at a remote flyin camp in the breathtaking region of Nunavut. This is a unique opportunity to work in an extraordinary environment while contributing to important projects in the mining and construction industry. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance duties including carpentry electrical plumbing and mechanical tasks.
- Assist in the upkeep and repair of camp facilities and equipment.
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to solve problems and improve operations.
- Participate in safety briefings and adhere to all safety protocols.
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of carpentry electrical plumbing and mechanical systems.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a labourer in remote settings.
- Level 1 First Aid Certification (or equivalent 2day course) required.
- PAL license for wildlife monitoring preferred.
- Valid Drivers License.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word Outlook Excel Office 365.
- Strong organizational and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Positive attitude with a genuine desire to support team success.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a remote camp setting.
- Familiarity with diesel generators offroad vehicles and chainsaws.
- Trades experience is an asset.
- Versatile handyman skills with a willingness to adapt to various tasks.
