Job Description:
- Design Leadership: Lead the creation of premium product enclosures integrating advanced electronics. Develop 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings using tools like SolidWorks CATIA or Fusion 360 for production.
- Aesthetic & Functional Integration: Combine industrial design and engineering to create visually appealing durable and ergonomic enclosures optimized for thermal management and assembly.
- Manufacturability & Prototyping: Validate designs through rapid prototyping methods (e.g. 3D printing CNC machining) and ensure manufacturability working with partners to meet design and cost targets.
- Material & Process Expertise: Select materials and finishes that enhance the products appearance and performance and implement advanced fabrication techniques using software such as CAM software for CNC machining.
- Crossfunctional collaboration: Work with crossfunctional teams to ensure innovative product development utilizing collaboration tools like Jira Confluence and Slack. Provide leadership in enclosure engineering.
- Continuous Innovation: Stay updated on trends in design and materials applying new insights to improve products based on user feedback and testing using data analysis tools such as MATLAB or Excel.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks CATIA Fusion 360 and strong sketching and visualization skills.
- Demonstrated expertise in material selection thermal management and structural analysis (including FEA).
- Experience with rapid prototyping techniques and transitioning designs from concept to mass production.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining injection moulding and surface finishing.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a startup environment.
- A keen eye for design aesthetics and a passion for creating products that are both beautiful and functional.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in product enclosure design for consumer electronics with a proven track record in designing premium highquality housings.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Design
- Familiarity with industrial design software and rendering tools (e.g. KeyShot Alias) Advantageous
