1About the position:
The Subsea Engineering Lead is part of the Subsea Civil and Marine Engineering team within the Chevron ENGINE Center and will lead a team of subsea experts that provide support across Chevron related to Subsea equipment Risers Flexibles and Umbilical pipelines subsea power and controls engineering. The subsea team is made up of engineers technical specialists in the Subsea space for both base business and capital projects.
The Subsea Lead is a working lead role that will manage a team that forms part of a larger Subsea Civil and Marine Engineering (SCME) function across Chevron working closely with their counterparts in the Chevron Technical Center (CTC).
Key Responsibilities:
Provide a safe respectful work environment for the team
Manage team in support of the teams subject matter consulting for capital projects or existing operations across the enterprise
Provide leadership & direction in the areas of Subsea equipment Risers Flexibles and Umbilical pipelines subsea power and controls engineering
Collaborate with functionally linked CTC chapter manager(s) in work assignment and prioritization of the SCME Team in the ENGINE
Coordinate training mentoring coaching career development performance management responsibilities for direct reports
Ensure that team and individual deliverables are understood performance expectations are clear and that progress is measured and reported
Participate in recruitment and hiring within Subsea team
Performs Subsea engineering tasks and activities as a working team member
Required Qualifications:
Masters degree in mechanical or subsea engineering or related field from a recognized (AICTE) university
Strong written and verbal English communication skills to interact with Chevrons global employee workforce
Demonstrated supervisory experience of diverse engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven 1015 years of relevant industry experience in the design engineering manufacture installation and operation of subsea hardware umbilicals risers flexibles and pipelines
Working knowledge of industry standards for the design testing and application of subsea hardware including but not limited to trees valves connectors manifolds and wellheads
Subsea engineering experience through operation support engineering assignments or design work for capital projects
Subsea controls experience in design development operation and diagnostics
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm.
