Job Description
Position: Recreation Program Leader
Program: Robert Sonny Hill Community Center
FLSA Status: Parttime/non exempt
Pay: $12.50 per hour up to 15 hours per week (summer hours may vary)
The RPA is responsible for assisting the Program Supervisor with evening and weekend activities at the Community Center and in the coordination and supervision of middleschool students in a leadership and development program.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required:
Knowledge of administration principles of recreation and supervision
Experience working with youth
Experience scheduling events and coordinating activities
Working knowledge of office practices scheduling attendance & record keeping systems Basic math and ability to handle cash accurately
Appropriate business writing
Interact in a professional and courteous manner while supervising youth and adults Develop and facilitate youth activities
Knowledge of the Google suite platform
Duties and Responsibilities:
Daily attendance and record keeping
Daily setup and clean up of supplies and equipment
Organizing and coordinating special events
Supervise youth and adult activities
Supervise group rentals
Purchase supplies and maintain inventory
Communicate effectively with businesses partners and parents
May involve collection of money
Assist in maintaining cleanliness of facilities as needed
Food handling and management
Perform other duties as requested
Physical Requirements:
Tasks involve physical effort standing walking light lifting occasionally moderate heavy lifting 2050 lbs. dexterity in the use of fingers limbs or body
Qualifications:
At least 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience working with youth
Background check required
